The 2010 Winter Games Secretariat media relations section is a valuable resource to assist members of the media in connecting with key contacts to support development of topical news stories, programs and features.

We offer a wide range of support services from corporate information, links to 2010 partner media resources, to media focused programs including access to high definition video, b-roll and stills.

Media Focused Programs

BC Stories
BC Stories is a media focused program designed to produce editorial stories that can be easily adapted to news programs, newspapers and magazines worldwide. The stories consist of interesting people, places, and businesses in British Columbia produced by news journalists who understand the need to have versatile content that can be tailored to a global audience.

The stories are available for download in high definition as well as supporting b-roll, digital stills and research notes. A community contact is provided for each story in the event that further support material is required. Communities are encouraged to use the video for their own promotional activities and highlight the activity in their local environment.

International Media Centre
The 2010 Winter Games Secretariat will welcome media from around the world to a state of the art unaccredited International Media Centre (IMC) at the heart of Vancouver in downtown Robson Square. A prime hub for members of the working press, the IMC will promote British Columbia and its businesses, communities, and tourism opportunities to the world.
