British Columbia Showcase

Located in the heart of downtown Vancouver, the LEED Gold certified British Columbia Showcase offers state-of-the-art reception and event facilities, along with innovative displays of communities and leading industries from around the province. An initiative of the B.C. Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games Secretariat, the BC Showcase aims to foster business relationships, profile B.C. regions and industry sectors, and solidify the Province’s international business image as Canada’s Pacific Gateway.

Comprised of two connected spaces, one highlighting the Province through multimedia presentations, the other a versatile hosting area, the BC Showcase is an ideal space for business or community functions looking to provide a truly British Columbian experience.

Showcase

The showcase area is a dynamic facility aimed at promoting the Province’s leading industries and vibrant communities. Visitors and client groups can participate in a guided walk-through of the facility where they will be treated to interactive presentations and displays designed to create an engaging environment.

Facility Highlights:

• Interior fir and larch flooring and a unique ceiling crafted from wooden planks donated by communities across the province.
• Made in BC products including: recycled glass tiling, low energy light fixtures and hand-carved doors.
• An innovative multi-screen presentation that highlights British Columbia’s attributes as a business destination.

Hosting

The hosting area is a multi-functional space designed to cater to a variety of meetings, presentations and events, while also featuring innovative and sustainable products from across the province. With a catering service area and various possible room confi gurations, this versatile space allows clients to transform the facility to refl ect their community or organization.

Facility Highlights:

• Two large scale (110 inch) high definition projection screens to support a client’s audio-visual needs with Internet, PowerPoint and DVD capability.
• Two additional 42 inch screens and four large format window projection displays designed for client content.
• Over 2,500 square feet of space for presentations, formal dining, meetings, receptions and networking sessions.
• Featuring creative lighting, jade products, a copper countertop, natural carpeting and recycled glass tiling, all supplied by BC companies.

Use and Availability

The British Columbia Showcase is a unique and innovative facility located in the centre of downtown Vancouver. The rental value of this space has been estimated at $2000 per day. The Province of British Columbia will make this space available at no cost to Communities, industry associations, economic development agencies, Olympic Family and other approved organizations for the purpose of furthering B.C.’s economic development goals.
